Assistant/Associate/Full Professor: The Auburn University Department of Chemical Engineering invites
applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions with an anticipated start date of August 2024. The areas of
expertise are open; however, the individuals selected for these positions will be expected to contribute to the growth
of at least one of the department’s strategic focus areas: energy and environment, advanced materials, computeraided chemical engineering, and pharmaceutical/biomedical engineering. The candidates selected for these positions
must demonstrate a strong commitment and potential to excel at both research and teaching in the area of chemical
engineering. Additionally, the candidates are expected to have a strong record of scholarly publication, have the
ability to attract and sustain externally sponsored research funding to support their research programs, collaborate
with faculty on a number of interdisciplinary research projects, effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses,
and mentor graduate and undergraduate students. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and
qualifications.


Our department seeks outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field at the
time employment begins. The candidates selected for these positions must be able to meet eligibility requirements
to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the
proposed term of employment. A Ph.D. (or terminal degree) is required at the time employment begins. Excellent
communication skills and a high level of personal motivation are required.


The position is available beginning August 16, 2024. Review of applications will begin November 1, 2023, and

The Auburn University Department of Chemical Engineering has a strong and progressive research program and a
long tradition of excellence in both graduate and undergraduate education. The department has 25 full-time faculty,
several research staff and postdoctoral associates, almost 100 graduate students (more than 80 of whom are in the
doctoral program), and nearly 450 undergraduate students. The department maintains vibrant research programs
with approximately $7.5 Million annually in sponsored research and recently concluded complete renovations of its
Ross Hall and Wilmore Laboratories, which provide cutting-edge research, instruction, and office space. These
